Design footwear for the average backpacker to be prepared for any activity and weather without the extra weight of bringing multiple pairs of shoes
Create a trail running shoe with an outsole that interlocks into the insole of the sandal with a rugged outsole, therefore when combined can be used as a hiking shoe.
Design for a brand, use brand language to create a product that fit in seamlessly
Design colorways to fit each selling season such as spring, summer, and a core colorway
Problems
Shoes are too heavy to bring multiple pairs for different activities when space is limited
Common blister locations around the heel and toe after shoe is submerged in water
Changing shoes can be a hassle/ time consuming when wet or on tough terrain
SolutionsEasy and accessible buckle to quickly put on and take off hiking outsole
Make a hybrid shoe that can be converted into the perfect shoe you need at the right time
Add closed-celled foam to the interior lining of the sandal to help prevent severe friction
